Replacing Missing Teeth With Bridges and Dental Implants
Bridges
A similar procedure to a crown, a bridge is typically indicated when a tooth is lost. Crowns are prepared on the teeth next to the space left by the missing tooth.
The lab then makes the bridge with consists of crowns next to the space with the false porcelain tooth is fused in the middle.
The bridge is then cemented or bonded in place, just like a crown.
Dental Implants
implantphotoDental Implants are a wonderful way to restore missing teeth. Dental implants are artificial roots and teeth that are placed into the upper or lower jaw bone by our highly experienced and trained dentist. They are much like your natural teeth, strong and stable, and can help to build a patient's self confidence by restoring a stunning smile.

Some of the reasons a patient may consider getting dental implants are:

To replace a missing tooth (or teeth) without affecting adjacent teeth
To fix joint pain or bite problems caused by teeth shifting due to a missing tooth
To restore store chewing, speech, and over all digestion
To support a bridge or denture to provide for a better fit and to make them more comfortable
To restore a stunning smile
Our dentists at Moundbuilders General Dentistry utilize the very latest in digital dentistry, ensuring precision placement of dental implants through the use of 3D Digital x-rays and computer guided surgery. The resulting tooth restoration is more accurate, stable and takes less time to complete and heal.

Initially, 3D x-rays and impressions are taken of the jaw and teeth to determine bone, gum tissue, and spacing available for an implant. A prior extraction/bone graft may also be necessary in order to begin the implant process. Our doctors utilize Galileos 3D imaging for the highest x-ray image quality. One 14 second scan results in 200 individual exposures that show a patient's teeth, bone structure and anatomical features, which enables clear navigation and certainty in diagnosis and treatment, eliminating any guess work from the process.

At the next appointment, the implant is placed using a highly accurate computer-generated guide. The area is then allowed to stabilize and heal for a few months. Patients will come in monthly to ensure that the implant is healing, as well as attaching to the bone.

When the healing process is complete, we will take a digital impression, and a few weeks later the new tooth is placed to complete the process.
